RSHP Term 4 2024

Fri 19 April - Understanding Human Sexuality

I recognise that how my body changes can affect how I feel about myself and how I may behave.   HWB 2-47a

Fri 26 April - How adults plan and prevent a pregnancy: contraception & condoms

I am able to describe how human life begins and how a baby is born. HWB 2-50a

I know that all forms of abuse are wrong, and I am developing the skills to keep myself safe and get help if I need it. HWB 2-49a

Gives reasons why contraception may be used, for example, to prevent pregnancy and infection.

From the RSHP resources for parents

"The children are continuing their learning about relationships, sexual health and parenthood. We have already learned about how human life begins, thinking about conception, pregnancy and birth. We have also learned about what sex is. Children at this age also have questions about contraception and condoms and so we will be sharing some information with the children about what these things are. "

I can describe the role of a parent / carer and the skills, commitment and qualities the role requires.      HWB 2-51a

Me as parent or carer • How will I make sure my child is healthy? • How will I make sure my child is happy? • How will I make sure my child is safe?

Please contact the school if you have any questions.

Term 2 Week 5

Hey Diddle Diddle

The Median's the middle

You add and divide for the mean

The mode is the one you see the most

And the range is the difference between.

We have been trying to learn this today to help with our information handling work. Test us later to see if we know it.

We were completing our designs for the Road Safety Week JRSo competiiton. We were asked to design a banner and a bookmark.

We also spent time with the P 3/4 class as their reading buddies. We hope to do some more of this over the next few weeks.

Children In Need

Thank you to P5 who organised our Children in Need fundraiser today. We loved the face and nail painting!

Alex was our Star Pupil. He has been very focused and shows his ability to work hard and improve.

Remembrance Day

We gave our art a "Remembrance Day" theme today. We then made a class list poem, with words which we thought were significantly linked to understanding why we have  Remembrance Day.

We continue  with our Substance Misuse topic, working in pairs and trios to complete some information posters.

Headbands Game

We played the Headbands Game to practice putting out commas in the correct places in sentences. It was lots of fun!

Thank you to Klara, who managed to take in her shoebox of goodies for Blythswood. The lorry comes on Monday. There's an exciting pile of boxes waiting at the office.

We have  been getting ready for the Disco on Monday 30th October. It's going to be a super event! Klara was our Star Pupil at the end of last term. It's lovely to have her as part of our class.

Finally, well done to Hamish for showing some very responsible behaviour during the holidays, as he was able to get help for a friend who had become injured. Well done for your thoughtful and caring actions.

Term 1 Week 8

We really enjoyed our Brew n Blether today. We had a cup of tea or coffee and some biscuits. We chatted about how our term had gone and added our thoughts, ideas and opinions to a Jamboard. We like the idea of Free Seat Friday, sitting next to a boy or girl, Daily Mile on Thursdays and Fridays and doing jobs around the school.

Please remember to have indoor shoes for next term please.

Have a great holiday everyone!

Term 1 Week 6

We've been estimating, measuring, visualising main characters, mixing hues to create tints and shades and having fun. We are working well together and gathering lots of house points too. Keep up the good work everyone.

Celebrating great work

it's always such a pleasure to receive work which reflects effort, care and skill. Thank you to everyone for some super work this week.

Klara made a beautiful job of her character drawings of Graham and Joe from Divided City. Nathan's story, "The Chase",  was dramatic, pacy and showcased a range of techniques from our toolkit. Fantastic writing.

Survival Problem Solving

Today we used logical reasoning and step by step thinking to work together on our problem solving task.

One group decided to draw a picture to help them to reach a conclusion.

I was very impressed with the negotiation skills that the groups used to agree a solution.

Litter Duty

We split into our House Groups today and focused on different areas of the school campus, to carry out our turn of Litter Duty. There was plenty to do. Hopefully, we will see a difference round the school now. Great teamwork!

28.08.23            Mrs Munro: Monday  Tasks

We were getting very creative yesterday with some bridge building, note taking and foil art. We worked together to problem solve to complete our challenges.

Back to School with our Buddies

It's been a busy week settling ourselves back in and looking after our P1 buddies. They all seem happy and are away playing on their own without us.

In class, we have made our charter and selected our Pupil Group reps. We hope to get into our routine next week, after lots of assessments to get our brains focused again. We enjoyed some parachute games and  Chapter 1 of our class novel: Divided City.

Mrs Munro is in on Mondays and we need to remember to take our PE kits with us  for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
