Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Each class has been given a country of the Commonwealth to create a display. We were given Papua New Guinea and are so proud of the display we have created. We included facts about the country and also the Queen.

P4B were given the task of decorating a mini coo for the Highland Hospice. We included our school values and it's sparkly purple too.  The children are taking home their own coo designs to share at home

Planet Play

For Outdoor Learning Day we were playing games from around the world. We played Catch the Dragon's Tail from China and Down, Down, Down from Australia. Great fun in the sun!

We had fun working in teams at gym this afternoon

Today we made cranes and sunflowers in the colours of the Ukrainian flag and displayed them on our window to send them a message of hope and love.

The children were excited to go out in the snow today. As we have been learning about the different parts of a castle we decided to try to make some snow castles.

Happy Haiku

We wrote our own Haiku poems. Haiku is a type of short poetry originally from Japan. Traditional Japanese haiku consist of three phrases.

Children's Rights

This week we were learning about:

 Article 17 -You have the right to get information that is important to your well-being, from radio, newspaper, books, computers and other sources. Adults should make sure that the information you are getting is not harmful, and help you find and understand the information you need.

 Each class was given 1 Lochardil sweatshirt. We had to turn the sweatshirt into something ready to wear for  the catwalk for a "fashion show"

We are doing lots of fun activities learning about 3D shapes!

We have been learning about 2D shapes on maths and went on a 2D shape hunt in our playground.

Yesterday was Diwali and we were learning all about how it is celebrated. It is a festival of lights so we made some kandil lanterns that are hung in front of homes during Diwali.
