World Earth Day takes place on the 22nd of April each year.  Earth Day is celebrated across the globe to reflect on the world and the environment around us.  This year's theme for Earth day is "Invest in our Planet."

Today the boys and girls were given the challenge to up-level basic sentences at each 'Blether Station'. Each station had a sentence which needed improving.   By working together, they were able to change the vocabulary and add in additional information to create more interesting sentences.

This week in school we were celebrating Children's Mental Health Week. The theme for this year is ‘growing together’. During the week, the children explored the concept of growing emotionally and thought about ways to help each other grow. The children created their own support balloons by identifying the people in their lives that help them grow and develop as individuals.  On Friday the children dressed to express their emotions and feelings. We had lots of fun and happy outfits and a few onesies too!

We've had another busy week in Primary 3A.  The children have been enjoying their gymnastic lessons in the gym hall.  Today they were developing their balance skills by taking the weight of different parts of their bodies. They had to able to hold the balance for a minimum of 3 seconds.  It was quite tricky but they did incredible well!

The children have also been learning how to tell the time and identify quarter past and quarter to times on digital and analogue clocks.

It's been a busy week in P3a!  The boys and girls enjoyed their first Active Play session with Connie from CALA. They enjoyed working together, building their own dens.

We also started working on our new topic for this term 'The Romans'.  We discussed what we knew and what we want to find out. The children then worked in little groups to carry out some research. We even managed to do some painting for our wall display.

17.12.21

Primary 3A have enjoyed creating their own Worry Monsters.  The children designed an opening which allows them to feed the monster their worries. This will hopefully encourage the children to express their worries and externalize them.
