Welcome back, we hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We can't quite believe we're into term 4 already! It's going to be another term. Today the girls and boys all enjoyed taking part in the Construction Careers Activities. Craig McLellan (Procurement Manager at Capstone Construction) discussed careers in the construction industry and let the children take part in a hands-on measuring activity, showing how things are measured in the construction industry using scale drawings and lasers . We especially enjoyed getting a turn of the small digger in the front playground.
28th March
The boys and girls have thoroughly enjoyed our Roman topic this term. Today, we focused on aqueducts and explored how the Romans used them to transport water. The class worked in groups to design and build their own versions using different materials. Although there was plenty of water escaping and a few soggy mishaps, everyone had great fun experimenting and problem-solving along the way!

Primary 3 had great fun making Roman bread. It was hard work kneading the dough but what beautiful loaves of bread we made!

World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day this week by having a fun dress down day at school. We loved sharing our favourite books, authors and illustrators. And in the afternoon, we all enjoyed the Lochardil Book Award Ceremony. What a great day! day wouldn't be right without us spending time sharing our love for reading by taking in our favourite books from home to read together!

Stephen from Bellfield Tennis Club came to give us a coaching session today. It was a lot of fun and a great introduction to tennis!

The boys and girls have been learning all about money and today we finished our lesson off with a Blooket quiz. Great fun!

Having learnt all about life in the Roman army, the boys and girls were keen to design and create their own Roman shields. Don't they look fabulous!

P3 have been hard at work carrying out research for the Roman topic. This week we have been learning about life in the Roman army.

Robert Burns is Scotland's national poet. People all over the world honour his memory every year on the 25th of January, particularly in Scotland. Today the boys and girls learned about the life of Robert Burns and we tried reciting some of his poetry. We also enjoyed learning some new Scots words.

The boys and girls have been developing their badminton skills. We had shuttlecocks and balloons flying everywhere but we are getting there!

Happy New Year! It's lovely to be back and see all the children again. This week the children have enjoyed making their own calendars. They have been learning how to use and interpret their calendars in order to plan key events throughout the year.

Can't believe we're almost at the end of term 2! P3 thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas party this afternoon. Lots of games and plenty of dancing.

Carol Singing at Cameron House
Primary 3 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Cameron House. They all sang all beautifully! The children said it made them feel proud and happy to do something nice for others!
St Andrews Day
We have been learning about St Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. We created beautiful thistles using tissue paper.

Children in Need
P3 enjoyed taking part in the fun activities to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people around the UK. A big thank you to the Ashie House Captains for organising it all!
National STEM day - 100 Cup Tower Challenge
The children were challenged to build a tower with all 100 cups! It certainly kept them busy.

60th School Fundraiser!
The boys and girls had a fantastic time at the school fundraiser which had all been organised by the Primary 4 and P4/5 class! Thank you everyone who kindly donated money and time to make the delicious baking treats we received!

Climate Change Week
As part of our Arctic Adventure topic the girls and boys have been learning all about the importance of looking after our planet and the positive changes that we can all make in order to tackle climate change.

Today the girls and boys have been investigating and identifying the properties of different materials. For example, are they rigid, flexible, rough, smooth or waterproof?

This week we have been learning to tell the time using digital and analogue clocks.
Ball Skills
P3 love their time in the gym hall. This week we have been working on our ball handling skills.
Team Building
We had great fun developing our group work skills. Working as a team the boys and girls had to complete several challenges. It was noisy but great fun!
We are delighted to welcome you to P3 and a new school year. The children have settled in well and we have really enjoyed getting to know them all.
