P5 2025/26

What a fabulous week we have had!
We have been learning about musical timing and keeping a beat with Feis Rois and we have been given tin whistles to learn to play the tin whistle.  We have learned to play three notes with the tine whistle. We are keeping them in school just now and practising in school, but they may be taken home after our time with Feis Rois. 

We have been learning about the artist Andy Goldsworthy and we had a go creating our own shapes using materials round about us. We learned how to use shape and space to represent objects and nature from our everyday life.

We have had a great time learning the tine whistle with Feis Rois this week. We have learned to play the notes G, A and B and we are learning how to read music too. It has been great fun.

We have been loving learning about Ancient Greeks. This week we have been learning about Ancient Greek fashion and Greek god and goddesses. We learned about the Greek god Hygeia and what it was like to visit her temple. We learned that the Greeks used herbs to cure and prevent illnesses and ailments.  We had a go matching the herb/oil to the ailments that the Greeks used to prevent.

The children have had a fabulous time celebrating their learning on Ancient Greece. We dressed up and tried some foods that were available at the time. All the children had a go at trying new foods. Well done to all of you!

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our Open Morning, which had a Health and Well-Being focus. We were delighted you were able to join us.

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the Blythswood Showbox Appeal. Whether you donated a full box, or items that will fill shoeboxes, we are very grateful for all the donations.

An amazing total of 63 boxes were collected from Lochardil Primary. That is 63 people this Christmas who will feel cared for and receive essential items to help their health and wellbeing.

What a great time we had at Inverness Film Festival. We saw Snow White. Since returning to school, we have been creating our own story boards to explore and describe the characters, setting and plot of Snow White.

Congratulations to Maria and Ariana!

Ariana is our Star Pupil for her fabulous maths work. Her confidence has really improved and her work on times tables, fractions and decimals has a been great. Well done Ariana!

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone!

It has been a busy but brilliant start to the term so far and it has been lovely seeing everyone back after the holidays. 

We have a lot of exciting activities and experiences planned for this term with a lot to look forward to.

Scottish Ballet. 

What a fabulous workshop and performance we had by Scottish Ballet. We loved our trip to Eden Court to see the Snow Queen too. Well done to all the children who were absolutely fabulous during the workshop and performances.
