Writing and Art
In writing this week, we have been looking at a tense, adventure piece called The Chase. Our focus is on the tools the writer uses to share their emotions and create atmosphere. Before we write our own versions, we thought about the type of creature that might be chasing us. We sketched their eyes and will add details from the setting to use as inspiration. Lots of work still to do but don't they look amazing!
We started our transition to S1 this morning with a visit from Mrs Kish. Mrs Kish is a geography teacher at the IRA. She did a lesson on maps with our class, including a game of map symbol bingo! She also started to answer some of the questions we have about moving on.

Our classroom is really starting to come together. We created hearts that represent our personal values, and designed out own 2027 Leaver's hoodies.
We were delighted to welcome Metro Big Band, all they way from the United States, to our school on our first day back! The band played some lively songs and introduced us to their instruments!
