Term 1 Learning Overview
Below you will find our Learning Overview for Term 1. Lets have a fantastic first term P2!
For Health and Wellbeing this term, Primary 2 have been busy learning about the zones of regulation and emotion works cogs, really focusing on how our body feels and words we can use to describe how we are feeling! We liked using the inside out characters to extend our emotion language vocabularly. We have also made kindness buckets, we are trying really hard to make sure we fill each other's buckets up! Our class charter reflects how we all want to feel in our classroom.
For topic maths this term we have been working on being able to identify patterns with colours, and number sequences. We are learning to count on in 2s and 5s and can recognise that this is a number pattern. We made patterns in the ocean, and chose some our favourite ocean creates to make a sillhouette!
We loved using lily pads to jump along in 2s and 5s!
We joined a live stream to hear Julia Donaldson read her new book "Gruffalo Granny" through British Library! We loved hearing about Gruffalo Granny and learning how to think of rhyming words from Julia herself!
We have also been focusing on reading skills by being able to retell a story. We have been able to identify what happens first. next and last! Well done Primary 2!
We have been focusing on how to be kind and safe online. We have been exploring Google's Interland to become Google Legends! We especially loved Kind Kingdom, where we shared love and kindness with all the internauts. We loved making posters of Kind Kingdom, and adding slogans for Kindness on them!
We have been learning about how we are all unique individuals, but we all fit together like a jigsaw in P2!
We have been learning to recognise and name 2D shapes. We have been busy making 2D shapes in active ways. We even combined our previous knowledge of repeating patterns, by repeating shape patterns! Well done Primary 2!
We have enjoyed drawing around the new 2D shapes we have been learning.
Today our learners have returned home with work to share with their families that they are so proud of!
We have made some kindness buckets. All of our buckets are different, and designed to our own likes and interests, but we have been filling up with the same kindness and love that we show for everyone at Lochardil Primary School
